Pine Cathedral
Tallkatedral (Pine Cathedral) was an installation of living pine trees in Hedvig Eleonora Church in autumn 2025. The pine trees moved slowly across the floor while singing, each with its own voice.
“Tallkatedral turns the forest issue into a physical experience. Here, the forest is not an abstract administrative matter, but a presence that smells, sings and moves among us. The trunks of the pine trees mirror the vaults and pillars of the church. The forms of nature and architecture meet, and the cathedral becomes a forest – the forest becomes a cathedral. The relationship with the forest can never be resolved in balance sheets; it must live and breathe in constant motion between loss and rebirth. My Lindh’s work makes me feel the inner time of the forest, which moves far beyond the contemporary quarterly perspective and reminds us that responsibility is measured in generations.”
